about the yarn
This Cable Pompon Hat is made with bulky Wooly Bully which is a mix of 70% sheepwool and 30% alpaca. The sheepwool gives the yarn an authentic woolen look and the alpaca adds softness.
This yarn is a 2-ply, which means that the yarn consists of 6 different thinner threads which are twisted together. The different plies ensure a strong yarn that does not pill nor easily break. We advise needles 8 mm (US11).
Woolaloop’s Wooly Bully is spun in Italy. Here the world’s most premium yarns are made. The yarn has received the GOTS certificate which is the world’s best known standard for organic textiles. It guarantees that the yarn has been made in an animal- and human friendly way and that the ecological footprint is minimized. This means amongst others that animals live in their natural habitat and graze freely. Cruel practices as mulesing are never applied. All individuals that together create Wooly Bully are adults who work normal hours and receive a fair salary. The use of chemicals is minimized. This yarn is not bleached before it is dyed, which means less pressure on our environment and beautiful rich natural colors.
wash and care instructions
Wash items made with Wooly Bully always by hand. Place your knitwear in lukewarm water with some soft detergent or baby shampoo. Let it soak for 5-10 minutes. Rinse your knitwear and push the excess water carefully out. Do not wring. When all the soap has been removed, roll your knitwear in a dry towel to get rid of more water. Let your work dry flat.
If you just want to refresh your knitwear, you can also take it with you into the bathroom when you are taking a hot shower. The steam will clean the knitwear and make possible odors disappear.
Wool does not need washing as often as cotton or acrylic.
